I am personally a big fan of Wellah - they are based out of Miami and have super high quality ingredients. You have to buy directly from their website, but its not expensive and they deliver quick. Plus the taste is delicious!

Honestly wellah (the newer brand) is the best.. I've tried over 30 different protein powders and can say that with confidence. Their quality is top notch, and the consistency is great and there is no weird aftertaste. Both their chocolate and vanilla flavors are absolutely bomb

Ug - I just came here after buying a new container. I've been eating 4 scoops a day for years, have spent thousands of dollars on Isopure. I tested a dozen proteins and Isopure was the best, and I will never buy them again unless they go back to the old formula. This new formula is horrible. Plus, I have this grainy salty substance that ends up in my mouth because it doesn't mix in. WTF?? Has anyone found a decent substitute? The Whole Foods protein isolate is not that bad in my opinion, and its also an isolate which is important for me.

Late to the party, but I've purchased several different flavors of Just Ingredients protein. Some of the flavors are really hit or miss imo. Mint Chocolate and Strawberry are my personal favs. I don't love the other chocolate flavored proteins, and I'm a chocolate girl through and through. I like the clean ingredients and some of the flavors truly are great. Try some of the sample packets to see what you like first before committing to a full bag.

I swear by PEScience. You can order samples for $1.50 each in almost all the flavors, but my go-to for vanilla and chocolate right now are cake pop and frosted chocolate cupcake. My parents love it too. I've got hella Creami recipes on my page (I need to update my masterpost) and since switching from the cheapest Aldi brand I can use sooo much more in a recipe without it tasting bad.

My go-to is Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Whey. It's pretty ubiquitous, mixes well, and has a ton of flavors. I usually go for the double rich chocolate. For recipes, I lowkey like Ghost Whey. Their flavors are kinda extra, but they blend really well into smoothies and stuff. No cashew issue with either of those, afaik. Obvi, check the ingredients yourself just to be safe. If you're open to something besides whey, Isopure is a good casein option. It's a bit thicker, but the taste is clean.

Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Whey is the unassuming yet unbeatable choice. Sure, it’s not the flashiest tub on the shelf—your fitness-obsessed coworker has likely preached about it for years—but here’s the truth: It delivers. Twenty-four grams of protein per scoop, effortlessly smooth mixing (no gritty aftertaste), and flavors that hit the sweet spot between tasty and neutral. Chocolate? Classic. Vanilla? Adaptable. Think of it as the Levi’s jeans of protein powders—timeless, affordable ($1.50 a serving), and reliable for daily wear. Is it revolutionary? Not exactly. Ghost’s Oreo flavor tastes like a milkshake, and KOS wins plant-based hearts with its smoothness. But if you need a powder that disappears into pancake batter, fuels workouts without stomach drama, and doesn’t cost a premium? Optimum’s your workhorse. Decades of gym-goers (and my own pantry) back its consistency. It’s not sexy, but it’s the foundation you’ll keep returning to. Also check this thread:

I think something that goes unmentioned is the level of harmful heavy metals in vegan protein powder. I was doing True Nutrition for a while but I asked for their lab report and the rice powder (the better tasting part) has high levels of metals which don’t make the standards under California’s Prop 65. I pay extra for momentous protein powder now.

I’ve been using True Nutrition for a while now and it’s honestly one of the best protein companies out there. Their quality is top notch and they have a massive variety of protein types and flavors to choose from. What really sets them apart is that you can actually choose your sweetener: stevia, monk fruit, or sucralose, which I’ve never seen anywhere else. My go-to flavors are Cookies & Creme, Caramel Macchiato, and Marshmallow. If you want to give them a try, you can use my code Gavin10 for 10% off your order:

I have been using Truvani (Vanilla and Vanilla Chair) for about eight months now, simply because all the ingredients are clean (and I can pronounce them all, lol). I mix it with water or coffee, and the taste is good, but I hate how gritty it is, even after shaking between sips. On a whim, I ordered and tried Ora Organic (Vanilla Chai), and I LOVE how smooth it is!!! There's no grit at all, and I didn't even have to shake between sips! I plan to order a single serving of plain vanilla and chocolate. This is my new go-to Vegan protein powder for sure!

Naked Whey is a solid choice that won’t break the bank. It’s pure protein which is what you want to be putting in your body after a workout. The additives, flavorings, artificial sweeteners, added sugars, all that crap is just more work for your body to digest and filter through before it can actually get to the protein it needs. Buy plain, unflavored, natural, pure protein powder if possible and your body will thank you.

I fucking hate Greek yogurt. I HATE it!!! HAAAAATE!!!!! But I have it everyday…..I add blueberries and blackberries and some sort of nut (cashews normally). I can totally eat it this way. And the weird thing is, if the blueberries & blackberries are in season, when you bite in to them and the juice shoots out and mixes with the Greek yogurt it’s actually really good. (I also add 1 scoop of Naked Whey as well, no flavour, I don’t like additives, so I get a little extra protein as well.)
